Brad,

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time. Looking at the Microsoft prep guide, I'm not seeing any practice exams that Microsoft recommends: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exams/dynamics/633.mspx

That's not to say there aren't good practice exams out there, but I do know there are plenty of brain dumps out there that could get you into trouble that advertise themselves as practice tests. www.certguard.com has a tool that will help you determine if a practice test provider is legit or not.

Best of luck,
Phil

Hi all,

I am battling to get through MB2-633 - Installation and Deployment MS CRM 4.0 as well.

I studied the courseware parrot fashion but still cannot pass the exam.
I have come to the conclusion that the courseware not are irrelevant to the exam.

I am trying to find some practice exams to work with. Can anyone help.

MATTBIONDI, it's tough to speculate, but I think Microsoft is more interested in having folks certified in their products from a market share perspective than as a direct revenue stream.

Well, I will have to pay another time, because Second Shot was not available. I have a major doubt: Isn't Microsoft raising the bar on MSCRM certifications and at the same time earning some extra money in the process? What do you think? I bet that approximately 5 questions was not in the curriculum.

In theory, the exam writers use the eLearning Courseware as the primary basis for the exam questions. The implementation guide is more real-world focused, and can help understand some of the concepts explained in the Courseware.

Microsoft calls the implementation guide a "supplemental learning resource."

@Phil

Hi Phil, thanx for a quick answer.

Funnily enough, that is the exact same guide I found this afternoon. (Sent it to the printer before seeing how big it was) ....anyway, someone recommended reading that and the courseware, and said he passed pretty easy. ???

I did the instructor lead course (Work paid for it) for the 3. 631, 632 and 633. I was given a printed folder/training manual at that time. I've read these and I've been going over them again now that I need to do the exams.

So, do you think this installation guide is not required reading before the exam?

BTW Thanx for the link about 2nd Shot. I'll be using that.

MATTBIONDI,

66 is SO CLOSE. You only need two more correct answers to pass. Can you think of two questions you definitely didn’t know the answer to that you could go back and answer correctly with research?

Be sure to register for a second shot so that you can take it again for free, if you haven’t already.

But other than that, I have no advice. I passed using only the eLearning courseware, so I believe the answers are there, but it took me twice.

Best of luck,
Phil

Hello Phill,

I have just finished the test MB2-633 - Installation and Deployment in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.

I studied through Microsoft Official Curriculum, Implementation Guide and hands-on experience. I think this exam is too hard, compared to what is shown in the reference materials. There where questions that I cand not find the answers in the MOC. I performed 66 out of 100 and and I saw some questions with more than one sentences correct. I guess this exam does not have good preparation materials, especially on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 Email router and Redeploying and Upgrading sections. We can't find reference on some questions. I have three years of experience on Microsoft CRM and I have been working with this tool since 1.2 version, in 2005.

Do you know how can I improve my knowledge to achive success in this hard exam?

Mr Nutz,

Studying the implementation guide is a bad idea for best use of time for passing this exam... that's why I failed the first time! (The new and improved implementation guide is here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1ceb5e01-de9f-48c0-8ce2-51633ebf4714&displaylang=en )

Instead, you want the eLearning Courseware, which is easily accessible if you have a CRM support contract through CustomerSource or PartnerSource (Menno has instructions: http://blogs.msdn.com/mscrmfreak/archive/2008/01/24/training-microsoft-dynamics-crm-4-0-courseware.aspx ). Is this what you mean by printed training material? This is really all you need, if you study it very thoroughly.
